A young woman is cast ou of home when she becomes pregnant. After living the life of a cheap whore for a few months, a loving, wonderful man comes to tke her away: he is Saint Daniel, the blind patron saint and Seeker of Lost Things.

St Daniel whisks Angela away to a world full of unconventienal nuns, saints alive and soul-sucking pools of holy water. But when Angela discovers a dangerous secret – that she is carrying the son of a demon – the world around her shifts too suddenly for her to follow. The demon is let loose, Hell breaks out, dragons and other magical creatures of legend take to the skies,  and there’s only one set of people who can save the world: the defective Saints of Sanctuary, New Calidon.

Can a mute, a blind man, a def woman and an insane nurse save the world? Only magic and sorcery can know for sure…
